The firm began with Martha Gonzales, a former disability examiner with Texas DDS who later became a disability representative. After years of reviewing claims from the government side of the process, Martha dedicated her career to helping individuals navigate Social Security Disability claims and appeals successfully. Her knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to clients became the foundation of MG Disability.

Today, that legacy continues through Julie Phelps, who has worked in the Social Security Disability field for more than 25 years. Trained and mentored by Martha Gonzales from the beginning, Julie combines decades of hands-on experience with a practical understanding of how disability claims are evaluated at every level of the process.

Julie is also actively involved in the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR), a national professional organization dedicated to advancing education and advocacy within the disability representation field. She currently serves as the organization’s Education Chair and has been recognized for her contributions to the profession with both the Distinguished Service Award and Member of the Year honors.
